Raising awareness by public speaking!

Our very own Sara Whitwell, was asked to speak about BOS to a nursing class.  The class is called Maternal- Child Nursing. It is a night and weekend course offered at Pensacola State College. PSC offers certifications in Critical Care Nursing,  Perioperative Nursing, and Practical Nursing; associate Degrees in Nursing, Nursing Career Mobility Option, Nursing Paramedic to RN Option; and a Bachelor Degree in Nursing.

There were 16 students there Saturday morning. The presentation went well.  She opened the floor up for questions in hopes a conversation would be started. They had a great discussion. The students asked questions about identifying symptoms in newborns and what their experience was like with Hazel. It sounds like Sara will be able to go back next semester to the same class and possibly another class!

If you are helping BOS spread awareness and would like to be featured on the blog feel free to contact Bohring-Opitz Syndrome Foundation, Inc. and someone will send you the information.
