5th Annual BOS Family Meet-Up

As promised, the annual Bohring-Opitz Family Meet-Up will be held the last Saturday in July 2020! This spectacular event will be hosted in Pennsylvania, at The Jeffersonville Golf Course, located about 20 minutes outside the city of Philadelphia. 

The BOS Foundation board would like to acknowledge a past announcement that stated the meet up location would alternate between East and West Coast. We realize that this would infer that this year’s location should have been held on the West Coast.

After careful consideration and thought, the board concluded that hosting the meet-up again near Philadelphia was more beneficial at this time. We carefully considered many factors, including: access to the location for families, surrounding resources, travel costs and more. 

Additionally, an influential factor is our current efforts to collaborate with ARRE Foundation! We are postponing our West Coast meet-up in efforts to align our 2021 event with a research symposium held on the West Coast. ARRE supports the research to the ASXL1 gene. As a foundation, we feel strongly about supporting the BOS community in as many ways as we are able! This future collaborative effort would allow more BOS families to access scientific research in the future, as well as participate in the BOS annual meet-up!

We are very excited to host a day for our BOS families yet again this year!  We aim to fill this day with support, fun and most importantly- our BOS family and community! Stay tuned for the travel stipend applications that will open on April 6!
