Golf 4 B.O.S.: Teeing Off for Awareness, Support, and Hope

In the world of rare diseases, awareness can be life-changing. For families affected by Bohring-Opitz Syndrome (BOS), that awareness brings connection, support, and hope—especially through efforts like the Golf 4 B.O.S. Tournament, the largest annual fundraiser supporting the B.O.S. community.

This special event was founded in honor of August King, a remarkable child born with Bohring-Opitz Syndrome. August’s father, Brian King, felt a deep calling to raise awareness for the rare condition that had profoundly touched his family. An avid golfer with a heart for advocacy, Brian created Golf 4 B.O.S. by combining his two passions: golf and the fight to make a difference for families like his.

Since its beginning, Golf 4 B.O.S. has grown into a beloved annual tradition, uniting families, friends, and supporters from all over. What started as a local fundraiser rooted in love and determination has become the largest and most impactful fundraiser for the B.O.S. Foundation.

This year, 2025, marks a major milestone: the 5th anniversary of the Golf 4 B.O.S. Tournament. Five years of swinging clubs, sharing stories, raising critical funds, and—most importantly—building a network of support for families navigating life with Bohring-Opitz Syndrome.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the King family and the unwavering support from their community, Golf 4 B.O.S. has supported our the BOS Foundations’s mission to improve the quality of life for all families living with BOS. This fundraiser helps us continue the BOS Family Meet-Up—a cherished gathering that brings families together—and provides financial scholarships for families, ensuring that cost is never a barrier to connection and care.

We are also deeply grateful to the dedicated volunteers who give their time, energy, and heart to make this event possible each year. From coordinating logistics to cheering on golfers and managing silent auctions, their behind-the-scenes work creates a day full of joy, purpose, and connection.

The tournament is more than a game—it's a symbol of love, resilience, and community. Each swing of the club honors children like August and reminds families affected by B.O.S. that they are seen, supported, and not alone.

As we celebrate five incredible years of Golf 4 B.O.S., we look ahead with gratitude and hope. Here’s to continuing the fight, one hole at a time.
