Financial Scholarships Open Through November 15

BOS Financial Scholarship Program

The Bohring-Opitz Syndrome Foundation is committed to making a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of individuals with Bohring-Opitz Syndrome (BOS) and their families. To support this mission, the Foundation launched the BOS Financial Scholarship Program on February 1, 2019.

This program was created to assist BOS families who demonstrate a need for products or services that will improve their child’s quality of life or support their ability to provide essential care. While the medical and developmental challenges individuals with BOS face are well understood, the financial strain families experience — often for basic tools and resources — is not always recognized.

Purpose of the Scholarship

The scholarship is intended to cover expenses that are not typically covered by insurance or government waivers, helping families access items and services that are essential for daily care, therapy, and overall quality of life.

What the Scholarship May Cover

Scholarship funds may be used for items and services that enhance the life of the individual with BOS, including but not limited to:

  • Augmentative communication devices

  • iPads and assistive technology

  • Firefly and mobility products

  • Sensory integration equipment

  • Adaptive toys

  • Minor home modifications

This list is not exhaustive. Families are encouraged to apply for needs that support medical, therapeutic, developmental, mobility, or daily-care goals.

To be considered, families must complete and submit the BOS Financial Scholarship Application & Agreement, available below.
